Dumped! And Yet, It's Not That Bad....

Reading the title (as I'm sure all four of my remaining readers have) it might surprise you to know that just before (and I mean about a half hour before) I had to type that title I was actually writing a random update entry to this blog lamenting the fact that I started this blog a couple of months before I found a nice, normal woman here in the great metropolis that is Anchorage, Alaska.

Well, life has a way of throwing some curveballs at ya!  Yes, the title is true, after saving a draft of that first post The Blockbuster came over and dumped my sorry ass.  There were a few reasons, but it boiled down to the fact that she didn't feel too "head over heels" about me and while that might have been okay in a normal relationship - it was harder due to the fact that I was gone all the time (hence the lack of blog updates as well - I've been TDY a crazy amount).  She was worried about me getting too involved when she wasn't feeling it.  HA!  It's just funny that I felt the exact same way, but I was going to let Future Arctic Fox take care of that problem (should it have arisen) - he's a good dude and would have dealt with that particular problem admirably.  At the end of the day there was a good level of old fashioned "like" there, but we both weren't feeling the love (that was incredibly corny, but descriptive).

So, single again.  The weird thing was that I was consoling her about the whole thing and not feeling all that bad about it.  Yes, it does suck to be dumped, and I'm not relishing the prospect of going back out as a single guy in the dating world, but this thing isn't crushing me or anything.  If anything I'm looking forward to the opportunity to hang out with my friends some more and being social.  I guess this was the best indication that this thing wasn't meant to be - I'm not curled up fully clothed under a cold shower listening to "Love Hurts."  No, I'm blogging and planning to go out with my friends later.  I'm sad - to be sure, but I'll be okay.

At the end of the day, my loss is your gain!  This blog does again indeed serve a purpose!  If my past is any indication of future performance then there's going to be some fucked up shit happening when I start dating in Anchorage again.

More blogs to come soon - and, in a special feature, I'll be going to Vegas later this month now as a single guy.  I might not survive...

Until then, always bet on black...
